Purpose...

If you give your life meaning and purpose you will really live!! Have you ever been down or depressed? In those moments, think about what you were focusing on. Then think about what you want to focus on instead of that. What meaning to you want to ascribe to things that occur and your life? Do you want to focus on the negative or the empowering thoughts and purpose? When you focus on what you want, you gradually begin to feel better. You begin to attract more positive things toward you and you can better handle negative things that occur. It is a fact of life that there will be negative things that occur, it's how you handle them that counts. So consider this a tool for your tool box.. in the times you feel down or negative begin to focus on what you want instead of that. Give the negative occurance and thoughts an empowering meaning and place your attention on your life purpose.

How do you find your life purpose you may ask? Think about the impact you want to have on the planet and the legacy you want to leave. How can you sum that up into one sentence? "My purpose is to __________" for example "My life purpose is to empower women". What would you say for yourself?

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway...

Susan Jeffers says it well in her book "Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway"... most of the time we are afraid because we don't think we can handle things. What are you afraid of doing that if you were to know you can handle it, you would go out and do right away? In life, things are only as they appear to ourselves and fear is simply "false eveidnece appearing real". You are in charge of your mind, therefore your results... so if you can tell yourslef now that you can handle anything you choose to do... how would you approch things differently? Say to yourself "I can handle this" or "I can handle ______" and you will notice a distinct change in your day to day life and your approach to things you once saw as scary. You can do anything you choose to do so go ahead and begin to gradually walk toward your ultimate goals.

Gossip...

Speak only to the person who can do something about it!! Sometimes when things don't go your way you can tend to turn to others to talk about someone behind their back. Know that if you do that, you only create that in your life. You only attract gossip about you! When you have something to say about someone, say it to them. I know, it may be a little scary but the best thing you can do for yourself and for others is to take the higher road. It is to speak only to the person who can do something about it. If all you do is gossip, you don't give the person who you are gossiping about the chance to make changes in thier life toward what they want. Or you don't allow them to be aware of their behaviour. So in the future, before you go to gossip about someone, have a think about what it is you could do instead.

Ideas, Ownership & Abundance...

Sometimes in life we can think we own certain information but the truth is that there is an abundance of information and ideas. Ideas are a dime a dozen and if someone takes your idea, simply be thankful that someone liked your idea and come up with a new one. The reason I write about ownership is that I had someone take information and ideas I told them about and make their own version of what I was doing. Have you ever trusted someone like that and been left out of the loop? I could be upset and angry at that person but all ideas come from the same place. Abundance is the name of the Global Empowering Women Org (GEWO) game. We choose to live knowing that there is more than enough to go around and we choose the higher road toward the path of light. There is an abundance of everything and anything you choose to focus on. It turned out that I didn't want to do that thing anyway so what a gift that I got to move on to other things. What a gift that GEWO was born!!

Avoiding Burn Out...

So often as women we can tend to take on everything and do more than what we are natrually capable of achieving. Why you may ask? Hmmm.. that is up to you but I know that I have this inner need to please and at times even my own wellbeing has come last after that need to please. In my experience as a woman who has suffered burnout at the age of 30, the mistakes I made prior to the burnout are; I had a Blackberry, I loved my job more than I loved myself, I had money issues, I didn't exercise and I didn't eat properly. There are many contributing factors in a breakdown which can lead to depression and anxiety.

It was a long climb out for me and please listen to me when I say that it is best avoided. Do you notice yourself over doing it? If so, how can you make space for you? How can you beging to focus on your wellbeing and taking time out? How can you put your life before your career? If you are struggling financially, I can empathise with you because that is the main contributing factor to my breakdown. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't make my business or career profitable. And in the end, that was what caused me to plunge into the depths of darkness. Now in the depths of darkness I saw the light, and it's imperative to place and empowering meaning on everything that occurs. And the climb out has brought me to a place of inner peace I didn't know before, so I am happy!

The gist of what I am sharing with you is that burnout is avoidable. You are a special woman who has many gifts and you can profit from those gifts from a place of wellbeing. Just think of the Law of Attraction. You prosper from that place of inner wellbeing and inner peace. Begin to find things that you love to do for hobbies, start to exercise daily and eat well. Seek professional help if you are finding it difficult. Any good psychologist can help you with the disease called "over work". So go out, play and enjoy your career after you take care of yourself first.

Losing Weight...

When losing weight it is important to lose it nice and gradually and slowly. Fad diets and fast weight loss can lead to putting it all back on. It is all a mindset really. It's what you think about your body and yourself. It's your mental approach to exercise and food that counts and consistency in all areas to cause you to create lasting results. If you are finding yourself losing weight slowly, then be grateful for that. Know you are on the right track and if you have lost 1 kg then your formula for weight loss is working. Keep it up and then you will see 2 kg's and then 3 and so on. Be patient and don't go lookig for a quick fix. Remember the secret ingredient is consistency. If you consistently stick to your weight loss formuala or plan you will find that you will win every time!!!!

Do what you love and love what you do...

In life, it is important that you do what you love and love what you do. You have been given a certain amount of years on this planet and how do you want to spend those years? What do you want to do with those years? It is imperative that you know what your divine destiny is and what you want to do for your career and your hobbies. I have many things that I love doing and not all of them are what I want to do for my career. Counselling is my divine destiny and assisting people to live their best life possible. What is your purpose? It is said if you do not have a vision or purpose, you will fall into the plans of someone else. Whose life are you living and what is it that you are not doing?

Diets don't work..

Have you tried just about every diet you can think of and wonder why you struuggle with your weight. Well dieting ruins your metabloism and eventually can make you fat. It's your relationship with food that you need to take a peek at because years of dieting can cause you to have an unhealthy approach to eating. In my time as a Personal Trainer, I found that most women yo yo! They go on the diet for a bit, are really good then go off the diet and end up worse off then before. They exercise for a while then reach a goal and then stop and go back to where they were or even further. In this day and age with the media and all the stories about "skinny people" and people's weight, you need to be strong in your approach to your body image and just as importantly be strong in your approach to food. A simple step I learned from Dr Rick Kauseman author of the book "If Not Dieting Then What" is to say to yourself, "I can have it if I want it but do I feel like it"... only a start and seek professional assistance with your nutrition if you feel you need to find your natural eating patterns.
